Memory Through a Narrative- Final Piece
I created a book, inspired actually by the book fair you (yes, you Manchester School of Art) had during the open day. Some of the architecture of the books were very unique and interesting and inspired me to create an equally unusual shaped book, influenced by the shape of a caterpillar. It opens out from the centre into this long narrative, written by my friends. I pieced together their individual recollections to produce an interpretation as accurate to the original as I could, though still maintaining their charm. The story follows a line until it reaches to end where there is the image of the cocoon. I felt it was important for the book to
look simple and pure, like a childhood memory.
